These are the ideas that I came up with while I was doing my summer research, they were stepping up points for some of the ideas that I came up with for the artifacts for the other parts of this blog.
Idea 1
I really like the idea that without sleep your short term memory would not be able to be converted into long term memory:
- The idea that had from this was to maybe make a short film about the importance of sleep. It would look as how your memory would be affected without sleep. This would give the oppertunity for some interesting fast pace montage scenes.
- Audience- the possible audience for this would be 20+ because it would attract this sort of age range when there were experiments done before.
Idea 2
I was thinking about the idea that drugs affect your mind. I wanted to try and create a fictional piece about a person on drungs and how this affects there memory. This would also leae it open to being quite a surreal piece. I would really like it to be a surreal piece as I love the idea of making something unusual.
I pictures a girl who is addicted to drugs and there are pictures of her in clubs, getting laid and drinking and happening very quickly. The first scene would be her taking the drugs. Then it would be alot of scenes of her in several different clubs and then it would be her waking up lying next to a man but not remembering how she got there then this would be repeated. Until either she woke up in Rehab or died.
- I wanted to show a girl walking through a room that is blurred to show that she is stoned. To make it seem more surreal it should also be dark colours.
- Camera action should be joulty and fast moving. Lots of different colours all looking blurry.
- I am looking at ways in which it would end and I could include both endings.
- Audience-19,20+- I think this would be the audience because it would be based on a young person and they may have experiance similar things.
Idea 3
A documentary into the science behind memory
- the cience behind memory really facinates me and I eould really love to look into it alot more.
- I believe theres alot more to the science behind memory then I have already looked into and its something I think other people would like to look into to.
- I think that it is not a subject that we normally look into so I think that it would be really good for a new documentary.
- Audience- Science students 30+ It may not appeal to a younger audinence because it is a science based programme.
Idea 4
A radio quiz panel show with a whole of games based around memory.
- Playing memory games about rembering where things are or things people say.
- There would have to be an element of humor in it to make it more enjoyable for the audience.
- The idea draws parrels with just a minitue and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a clue.
- I really like the idea of doing 15-30 minitues shows with guest, young and old to compare there memory skills.
- Almost like playing the game when you were little, where you’d put things under a tea towel and the they take something away and you’d have to remember what it is.
- Audience- 20+- A bit like Have I Got News For You it will attract a wide range of ages but I dont think it will attract anyone younger then this.
Idea 5
A memory behind every Picture
A short fictional film about good and bad memories that come when looking at family albums. the story would suddenly follow through into a picture that had been taken and it would tell the story of serveral pictures. The person looking at the picture would be different everytimebut the same person would be in the picture.
- It will tell the story ofthe people looking at the picture and the story of the person actually in the pictures.
- All the pictures would interlink somehow the pictures would be taken one aftern the other and tell the story.
- Audience 20-30′s because this is a fast pace fictional film, it will appeal to these ages but probably not to older people.
Idea 6
A documentary on people’s favourite pictures and the stories behind them.
- This would involve people choosing a favourite photo or picture, of a histroical event or a special day andf then telling the story behind it.
- war heros, everyone Grandma or Grandpa or mother has a story about a war hero.
- Finding out the difference between taking photos now and taking photos back then.
- Inspiration for both ideas 5 and 6 was the saying ” a pictures worth 100 words” and the phrase ” Behind every picture theres a story”
- Audience 30+- I think that it will attract a wide audiece as it would feature all ages.
Idea 7
A documentary on the power that religion has on people today and the power it used to have over Governments.
- This documentary would look back at past events and how they were effected by the power of religion.
- Thinking about Henry the 8th and how the church effected his decisions.
- I want to look at the perceptions of religion across generation gaps as well as see if this has changed.
- Looking at how its become not acceptable to be a religous person
- I also wanted to see if it was more popular to be religious back then, then it is to be religous now
- Possible audience- 20-60+ as it looks at the age difference it will appeal to a wide audience.
Idea 8
The real Credit crunch
A documentary behind the credit crunch some home trues behind what is really happening
- With all the mixed stories that are around what is actually happening would be interesting.
- Look at what the media say is true and what is actually true looking into the truth behind the stories.
- Problems
- As that is a recent subject it might be a bit controversial and hard to complete without offending anyone. People are still feeling the effects of the credit crunch.
- look at what affects the credit crunch is having on the price of food and supermarket sales.
- Look at whose losing out in the credit crunch.
- people
- estate agents
- supermarkets
- brands
- Audience- 20+ kind of like a dispatches documentary it attracts a young audience up.
Idea 9
A series of documentarys following ordinary people coping with the Credit crunch.
- Maybe looking at the school system and how that has been affected them and how much money affects them.
- Another one could look at the effects on supermarkets. and also what type of food we are buying.
- The Audience 30+ I think it would attract a wide audience as it looks at ordinary people just like them.
